This weekend is the premiere of a new work for Calefax Reed Quintet and Eric Vloeimans: Six Pièces Mécaniques - a series of pieces combining text instructions, diagrams, written out rhythms, theatrical indications, etc...

Concerto for iPad and Orchestra

After a great premiere performance by the Rotterdam Sinfonia, Conrad van Alphen conducting and Keiko Shichijo as solo iPadist (is that a word?), the Rotterdam Concerto II, Concerto for iPad and Orchestra will be performed twice more this october. This time with Susanna Borsch tickling the touchscreen.

Hydraulic Principles

I have always been fascinated by machine-esque rhythms in various guises and the use of repetition in a non-minimalist fashion plays a key role in my new work for the street symphony orchestra Ricciotti.

Spinifex Orchestra V. 2 Tour

The raucous nine piece contemporary jazz band Spinifex Orchestra makes it's second tour this fall, including new works by Gijs Levelt, Tobias Klein, Joost Buis, Jasper Blom and myself.

Spinifex Orchestra



WRENCH

The last year we've been touring the Wrench project with my band Hexnut and the amazing photographs of Edward Burtynsky.  The last chance to see this performance in the Netherlands before going to North American next year is on November 4th in the Lantaren Venster in Rotterdam. Link

With new works by Jan-Bas Bollen, David Dramm, Anthony Fiumara, Mayke Nas, Seung-Ah Oh, Steve Ricks, Felipe Waller and myself.
