Website overhaul

This past summer we have been working on a complete overhaul of nedmcgowan.com.

Besides a cleaner layout and a new bio the music section has been heavily updated with lots of recordings, videos and previews of all the scores.

Big thanks to Bas Bouma for his vision and designs and to Sanne Spaargaren for his implementation.

Recently I gave two new performances on the contrabass flute, in Bangalore and Cleveland.

World Premiere in San Francisco, performed by the AB Duo

For those of you in northern California this weekend, the AB Duo is premiering a new piece of mine for contrabass flute and percussion. The piece is called Ricochet and features lightning speed exchanges between the two players, not to mention a big flexitone solo.

AB has been taking the new music scene by storm the past couple of years, giving a great impulse to flute and percussion repertoire by commissioning many composers and touring the US regularly. I’m really excited for their performances and hope that those of you nearby will check it out.
